Am I eligible?

Savana works with people aged 4 years and above.

Whatever your gender, age, ability, race, sexuality, class, HIV status, nationality or religion then you are eligible for our services.

If you don't know or are unsure if something has happened to you, just ask!

Can someone come with me?

You can have someone refer you on your behalf (with your permission) and you can bring someone with you to your first appointment if you wish.

Do you tell anyone about me?

Under normal circumstances, we would not share any details about you and we would not reveal that you are accessing Savana's services unless you ask us to do so.

If there is 'significant risk of significant harm coming to you or someone else' and us sharing information would make a difference then we may need to inform someone. We would discuss this with you before any information was shared.

Do I have to pay?

No - there is no charge for our services.

As Savana is a charity, donations are always welcome but counselling and ISVA appointments are free.

What Standards have you got?
Savana's counselling service is accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Savana is also Investors in People accredited and holds the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. Learn more about our standards.
Can I choose who I see?

We have male and female counsellors and female ISVAs.

If you geel that you cannot work with your counsellor or ISVA, tell us. We will try to provide you with a replacement.

We also have a female only space for those who feel that they need it.

Could my friends or family come too?

If any of your friends, family, supporters or workers are affected by what they have heard, they can access Savana's services whether you do or not.

They would be seen by a different counsellor or ISVA to protect their information and identity.
