We have 30 years of experience in working with those who have been affected by violence and understand the potential impact that it has on their work, family and social lives.
Our specialist courses are CPD accredited and are designed and delivered drawing on current thinking and research together with the practical experience of our workers and clients. Sessions are delivered by professionally qualified trainers. The trainers use a variety of training methods including discussion and case studies. Information packs containing handouts and other supporting material and certificates of attendance are provided for all delegates.
We currently offer the following training courses:
The course will explore what constitutes sexual violence including the myths and realities, stereotypes and statistics, the effects on victims, coping and dealing with disclosure including sources of help.
The course will examine what is meant by culture, its impact on community values and the relationship with honour violence; what constitutes honour related violence and FGM including why and how it happens; forced marriage and barriers for women seeking help.
FGM has been developed with The Department of Sexual Health & Partners - Stoke on Trent Community Health Services and the Department of Midwifery, University Hospital of North Staffordshire.
